The dark and bright side of Loto in Mauritius

The government took a new step by launching the National Lottery as well the new Loto game. This one is going to be much beneficial to the economy of the island and also the Mauritian population.

Even if you played Loto and you lost the game, still you lost nothing. Because 58% of the funds will go to the government. This means you are going to be the one who will benefit from it. The Prime Minister of Mauritius talked about it yesterday. He dreamed of the day when Mauritian students will get the opportunity of having 500 scholarships. He also talked on how this is going to help in the sports field and how great it would be if one day, there was a World Cup Team for Mauritius too. He also mentioned that for the moment no permission is being given for the operation of new gambling houses.

But after these positive point, we surely cannot deny the bitter truth on these gambling related games. Those below the age of 18 cannot play the Loto game. How far this will be applicable? This point is still debatable. And what about those who can become addicted to it. Or perhaps those who will play too much and lose all their money in it. Of course, this one is more like a game unlike the famous Lotterie Verte. And much advertising has been done to promote this game. But still, the public has been informed that they should play reasonably. And I guess the Brigade de Jeux or perhaps even the Brigade de Mineurs will be on patrol throughout the island.

All alphabets and numbers disappeared from my mobile phone

This was what happened when I tried to update the firmware of my LG KU 250: all alphabets and numbers simply dissapeared. Yes, and so I had to manage with this handicap. Imagine using a mobile phone where no alphabets nor numbers displayed.

But fortunately after some days, I tried to re-animate my mobile by re-installing the firmware several times. Thankfully, it returned back to normal but everything was erased and reset. But I'm happy, it's back to normal. Literally, it was a waste of time to update the firmware.

So, you get it now, if you have any LG mobile, be careful when updating your firmware. Otherwise, you know what will happen LOL!

7 ways of receiving a free Google Wave invite

Google Wave is a great personal communication and collaboration tool announced by Google some months ago. Google Wave can be classified among the Twitter or Facebook generation. But it's much better and innovative too. Google Wave is still in active development.

And so, an invite is required so that you can use it. 100 000 users received a Google invite on September 30 2009. These users can share a maximum of eight invite to their friends or relatives. Those who received an invite from these 100 000 users cannot share them. In other words, Google Wave invites are limited and it's somehow difficult to get one.

But, don't worry we are exclusively disclosing 7 ways of getting a Google Wave invite. We also recommend you to try all these methods so that your chance to get the invite increases. And, did we mention that these methods are completely free.

1. This is the first and best method to get a Google Wave invite. Simply go to Twitter and on the search for things like "Google Wave Invite" or "8 Google Wave Invite" or perhaps "3 Google Wave Invite" Now from the results which you will receive, look for the people who seem to have an invite. Then reply those people asking them for an invite with something like "Hi, can you send a Google Wave invite to this e-mail address. Thanks."

2. Go to the official Google Wave homepage and sign up to receive one. This one is a bit frustrating because it takes usually much time to receive the invite. But, when you will receive one you can share them with friends and relatives. And if you create multiple accounts using multiple e-mail addresses, the chance for receiving one increases

3. There are dozens of quizzes which are organized to share invites. You can participate in them and see if your luck is good.

4.  Some forums also exist where you can share, buy or bargain for Google Wave invites.

5. There are also some websites where you can register so that you can receive an invite. But, be careful and don't get into sites which seem to be fishy.

6. Sign up for Google Apps Standard Edition which is free. And look for a free domain name. Then register for the Google Apps edition of Google Wave.

7. This one has some chance to work and it uses Twitter too. Update your status with "Please can anyone send me a Google Wave invite to this e-mail address. Thanks." A volunteer might send you one if you have been kind enough on Twitter.

Michael Jackson's This is It in Mauritius

Michael Jackson's This is It will be released in Mauritian Theaters on 30th October 2009. This Is It is a concert film in where Michael Jackson was filmed rehearsing both on stage and behind the scenes. Michael Jackson was in fact rehearsing for 50 scheduled concerts starting on July 13 2009 and ending on March 6 2009. Unfortunately, Michael Jackson died on June 25 2009 following a cardiac arrest. This happened eighteen days before the first planned show.

And so, this posthumous film was born. This film will indeed be a great success because a lot of fans will be yearning to watch the last instances of Michael Jackson's life. Apart from the theatrical release, a This Is It DVD along with a Blu-Ray will be also coming at the end of the year during the Christmas period.

A two disc compilation album will be released on October 26 2009. It will contain the posthumous This Is It single which was premiered on the Official Michael Jackson Site some weeks ago.

Most of the students are probably having their end of the year examinations. And, I'm among them as usual. This definitely means more revision and fewer hours of Internet. But on some days, I'm before the computer surfing on the net or watching some Michael Jackson's video clips.


Apart from those inevitable exams, I also had to complete the "C.D.T Project Based Assessment" and "Preparatory Works for the Art Exams". And for the second time this year, I performed during Gandhi Day which was another wonderful experience.


Gandhi Day has been celebrated at Rabindranath Tagore Secondary Secondary School ever since it's foundation. Elders of the vicinity, grand parents of the pupils and inmates of the Swami Krishnanand Ashram are invited and lunch is served to them. We also have a garlanding ceremony as well a cultural show. This year, the cultural show was not so elaborated because of the recent death of another great man, Mr Putty. On that day, it was not just a question of serving lunch but also to care for the elderly people who are often rejected from the society by youngsters. This was the philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi who always said that education without service to mankind is incomplete. Indranee Seebun, Minister of Women's Right, Child Develop­ment and Family Welfare, was the chief guest on that day.


Moving on, this October, we will have many big releases like This Is It, Moonwalk, The Official Michael Jackson Opus, Ubuntu Karmic Koala and Windows 7.

Michael Jackson's This Is It is the rehearsal footage of late Michael Jackson's 50 planned concerts. This movie will be released on October 28, 2009. A two-disc album featuring Michael Jackson's music and an unreleased single will also be out on October 26, 2009. The unreleased single This Is It will be unveiled on October 12, 2009 on Michael Jackson Official Site at midnight.


Moonwalk, the auto-biography of Michael Jackson, will be also reissued this month. The Official Michael Jakcson Opus, an authorized tribute to the King of Pop, will also be published.


Apart from Michael Jackson, Ubuntu Karmic Koala will also released. Ubuntu is currently the most popular Linux distribution and Karmic Koala is going to have loads of surprise. This one is going to contain "a boot screeen" and also an "Ubuntu Software Center". These are just some features of the upcoming Ubuntu which is going to release on October 29, 2009.


Windows 7 is another great release but this one doesn't seem interesting any longer. It has been already leaked several decades ago. Windows 7 has a completely new look and other many cool functions. It's super stable and fast. In other words, it can be called a revised Windows Vista. This one is going to have a release on October 22, 2009.
