Nexus Two?

Nexus One

The Nexus One has been released some days ago. It's the most amazing phone with 512 MB DRAM and a storage capacity expandable up to 32 GB and not forgetting the 1 GHz CPU! But you also need to have Rs 20 000 to buy the unlocked phone though. This seems cheap but might not be a worthwhile investment for students or some other people.

Nexus Two?

So why not have a cheap and affordable phone probably built by a reputable Chinese company and branded by Google? It would be targeted to developing countries. The Nexus Two would definitely be an innovation. Something like the Tata Nano ...

How the Nexus Two can be?

It would be a recycled phone which would be in one way or another ecological. It would have the minimum system requirements with perhaps 32 MB DRAM and a 200 MHz CPU. You will need to buy your own microSD which will be expandable up to 8 GB. It will run on Android. Useless features will be removed and in this way it will be more ecological and cheap.

The People's Mobile Phone

If you can afford the Nexus One, you'll definitely not buy The People's Mobile Phone or the Nexus Two in other words.

Price

The Nexus Two will be perhaps sold at a launch price of Rs 8000.

Similar projects targeting developing countries

For the moment, the One Laptop per Child is a highly ambitious project which provides free laptop to children of developing countries. On the other hand, the Tata Nano is a cheap car build for Indians by Indians.

And what you think?
