Wishing all of you a pious Diwali

Happy Diwali to all of you. I know must of you are currently busy preparing ladoos and setting up illuminations. And don't forget to share with us what ladoos you are preparing(or for some of you what you are going to eat). You can also share your greetings and special messages by commenting below. Also be careful with firecrakers.

Below are the photos I took on Divali accompanied with some short comments:

"Diwali is also known as the Festival of Lights"

"Diyas are lighted to signify victory of good over the evil within an individual"

"People celebrate the death of Naraka who was a powerful evil killed by Satyabhama who was the third wife of Sri Lord Krishna"

"Diwali is also celebrated to welcome Rama who returned after 14 years of exile in the forest and his victory over Ravana"

"Sweets like ladoos are prepared"

"They are shared with relatives and friends"

"Illuminations are lighted"

"Fireworks are also lighted"

Here are the links of Mauritian Bloggers who also blogged on Diwali:

  1. Thanks for the link back :)
Hope you have/are having a great Diwali! :)

(the secret to ladoos is not let them get too dry when rolling them into balls...else they'll break before they have time to form! :))
